The Best Places To Stay In London

London is a city filled with rich history and places to explore. If you are going to be taking a trip to London, then you should consider staying in one of these areas…

The West End – Staying in the West End puts you in a position to catch many awesome shows and visit some of London’s most famous attractions such as the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London Zoo, Leicester Square, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. London’s West End has always been a major tourist attraction so you will always be able to find accommodations that will fit within your price range and your comfort level. The boundaries of the West End are set by four important London roads – The Strand along the southern end, Oxford Street along the north, Regent Street to the west and Kingsway to the east.

Bayswater / Paddington – Paddington and Bayswater are also both very attractive destinations. Bayswater is essentially a residential area located near the Paddington district. What is nice about this location is that most of the hotels in the area were once private residences that have been turned into hotels. They create a comfy and homey ambiance. The underground in the Bayswater area includes several connecting lines, so you will have quick and easy access to most of London, including the city centre. An upscale neighborhood to visit in Bayswater is Notting Hill, which received a lot of fame due to the film of the same name starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. Every Saturday the world famous Portobello Road Antique Market takes place here, so keep that in mind if you would like to see it.

Kensington – If you do not want to be hammered by all the hustle and bustle of city life but you still want to be able to reach it easily, then you should look for a hotel in Kensington. Considered a borough of London, this lovely location is filled with public gardens, parks and green spaces that are perfect for relaxing, while an impressive set of transportation hubs and links will carry you to any spot in the city. You will also be able to visit Kensington Palace, which was at one time, the home of the late Princess Diana. The atmosphere in the Kensington district is very cosmopolitan and exclusive, and you can experience this first hand if you choose to stay in a Kensington hotel. All of these locations are great if you really want to experience London at its finest.

Westminster – The historic seat of power, located in the center of London. It is home to one of the most recognized buildings in the world – the Palace of Westminster, which serves as the meeting place for the English parliament. The palace shares Westminster Square with the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the always popular Big Ben. Near to Westminster Square is Buckingham Palace, the place where Queen Elizabeth II lives. One of the amazing sight not to miss is the “Changing of the Guard”, every day just before noon, at Buckingham Palace’s main gate. Westminster is also home to that other great symbol of political power, Downing Street. This area can easily be traveled to thanks to the various subway and transit systems that frequent it daily so this makes it an ideal spot to stay in when you are in London.

A Wonderful Day In Beautiful Vienna

Vienna vacations can be as long or as short as you want them to be.

There are great buildings, wide avenues, music and culture and a great cafe society.

We decided on a brief visit because we were in Prague on a short break and we thought we might as well have a day in the city of Vienna. This is not, I suspect, the first thought in most people’s minds when they visit Prague but we thought it was doable. So we did it.

We arrived around lunchtime and there was a Metro station just around the corner from where the coach dropped us. It was very easy to buy a ticket and find the right train to take us to the centre of the city. We chose the stop near the Opera House, as this is the bus stop to catch all three of the hop on hop off buses. Because we only had six hours this was the best way to see as much of Vienna as possible, quickly and then get off to see some things in more detail.

Our first route was to see the Schonenberg Palace. We debated whether to go into the palace but decided it would take up too much time. As with all hop on hop off buses we had a commentary via our headphones and a brief Vienna travel guide . I do think this hop on hop off idea is an excellent way to get a flavour and taste of any city.

Many of the buildings were magnificent and the broad streets and avenues made it easy to imagine how the city would have looked without all the modern day traffic. I don’t know much about the ruling families of Austria except many of them were Hapsburgs and the most famous female member of the family must be Marie Antionette, and of the male members Archduke Franz Ferdinand whose assassination in Sarajevo sparked off the first world war, would be the most famous.

Between buses we wandered around the Opera House area and even toyed with the idea of having coffee and sacha torte at the Hotel Sacha. However there were long queues and the service was leisurely so we gave it miss.

The next tour was the immediate city centre, which gave us the opportunity to see the main buildings, which were mostly State and cultural but again it gave us a good flavour of the city. As we neared the end of this tour we were in an old part of the city where the streets were so narrow that the bus could only just get by.

This is where Mozart had lived for a few years and he composed The Barber of Seville while living there. We got off the bus here and enjoyed a short time exploring the narrow streets, alleyways and squares.

Eventually the heat got too much and we spied a very busy ice cream parlour where we bought our favorit flavors. We ate it sitting on the steps of a statue to Guttenberg, this seemed to be a popular place to sit.

All to soon it was time to catch the Metro back to our bus pick up point.

I don’t even pretend to have seen the true Vienna with such a brief visit but bargain city breaks give you an over all flavour of a city and give you an idea of whether or not you would like to spend longer there.

I am glad we had our day in Vienna but I haven’t made my mind up yet about going back.

Ganglionectomy Surgery In India – By World Renowned Surgeons

Ganglionectomy surgery:

Ganglion cyst removal, or ganglionectomy, is the removal of a fluid-filled sac on the skin of the wrist, finger, or sole of the foot. The cyst is attached to a tendon or a joint through its fibers and contains synovial fluid, which is the clear liquid that lubricates the joints and tendons of the body. The surgical procedure is performed in a doc tor’s office. It entails aspiration, or draining fluid from the cyst with a large hypodermic needle. The cyst may also be excised (removed by cutting)…

Purpose:

Ganglion cysts have appeared in medical writing from the time of Hippocrates. Their exact cause is unknown. There are some indications, however, that ganglion cysts result from trauma to or deterioration of the tissue lining in the joints that secretes synovial fluid…

Diagnosis/Preparation:

Ganglion cysts are fairly easy to diagnose because they are usually visible and pliable to the touch. They are distinguished from other growths by their location near tendons or joints and by their fluid consistency. Ganglion cysts are sometimes confused with a carpal boss (a bony, non-mobile spur on the top of the wrist), but can usually be distinguished by the fact that they can be moved and are usually less painful for the patient..

A Ganglionectomy, also called a gangliectomy, is the surgical removal of a ganglion. A ganglion cyst is a swollen, closed sac under the skin. The sac worked or trained is to the sheath of a tendon or may be attached to a joint. The cyst contains fluid similar to joint fluid. The removal of a ganglion cyst usually requires a Ganglionectomy. Such cysts usually form on the hand, foot or wrist and may cause pain or impair body function. Aspiration of the cyst and steroid injections are typically performed first. If they fail, the cyst is excised under local, regional or even general anesthetic. A general anesthetic relaxes your muscles and puts you to sleep. Your doctor will cut around the cyst and remove it. Your doctor will then close the cut with stitches or special surgical strips. Ganglionectomy is also performed for other reasons, such as the treatment of chronic pain.
