Basic Health Coverage
For The Pregnant and Uninsured

Many people have coverage problems none of the regular insurance resources could help them with -- pregnant, overweight, pre-existing conditions, and other problems too.  The first question I want to ask you is ARE YOU SURE you are uninsurable?   For example.. Have you checked out CHIP coverage in your state to see if you are eligible there?

I don't know if this applies to you or not, but since a male is probably at least half way responsible for your pregnancy you should contact him and his parents for the assistance you deserve.

If the family is irresponsible, go to your boyfriend's insurance, and contact his employer.

If you are underage, file a complaint at the District Attorney's Office against the male if he is of legal age --

or against his family if he too is underage.

Here is information and resources for those who can't afford to use the strategies I make available here, and aren't rich enough to get on welfare. This one resource provides GREAT savings at thousands of professional care providers including: dentists, physicians, pharmacies, and much more!  Just the pharmacy part of this program saves enough to pay for the whole program.

Receiving Hill-Burton Free or Reduced Cost Care:  Each facility chooses which services it will provide at no or reduced cost. The covered services are specified in a notice which is published by the facility and also in a notice provided to all persons seeking services in the facility. Services fully covered by a third-party insurance or a government program (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid) are not eligible for Hill-Burton coverage. However, Hill-Burton may cover services not covered by the government programs.

Check with WIC to see if you qualify.  WIC is effective in improving the health of pregnant women, new mothers, and their infants. A 1990 study showed that women who participated in the program during their pregnancies had lower Medicaid costs for themselves and their babies than did women who did not participate. WIC participation was also linked with longer gestation periods, higher birthweights and lower infant mortality.
